"It was love at first sight when I went out on the Acadia carriage roads for the first time" says author Robyn Cuffey. "The carriage roads, with no motorized vehicles and perfect footing, were too good to be true. They were also a bit confusing and took some effort to figure out without getting lost. After many years of riding and riding and driving in Acadia I have learned the roads, the routine, and the preparation for the horses. This book is an effort to share my insights with others to help make their trip go more smoothly."
Robyn's book, updated in 2022, is a guide for the rider and driver to spending time with their horses in at Maine's Acadia National Park. Due to its location, and its extensive driving and riding road network, the logistics of a driving vacation at Acadia are unique. Robyn's guide provides drivers all the tips and tricks she gained over the years taking horses to this 'too good to be true' location.
