Carriage Turnouts: Guidelines for the Users of Horse Drawn Vehicles

Edited by Tom Ryder

The informative booklet was produced by the CAA to help answer some of the questions frequently asked by newcomers to driving who wish to preserve the traditions of the sport and to uphold the standards of good taste established in its heyday.  It is a companion to the CAA's popular Carriage Identification Chart, and is organized in the same manner, with additional illustrations and examples of harness, livery, laprobes and aprons, etc.

The descriptions of appropriate turnout that are included are based on "Appointments in Equipage" published by Rider and Driver magazine, and the Horse Show Blue Book, both published during the height of the carriage era, and are principal references in the CAA archives, as well as other old writings on the subject.

This booklet combines the original text and images from the CAA's classic Carriage Turnouts and Appointments book with nearly all the images from the CAA's Carriage Identification Chart. An invaluable reference guide in a handy size.

Softcover, 72 pages, black and white.
