"Having been involved with the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair as a competitor and committee members, it spiked my curiosity to know more about those early years. I searched for more books, bought more catalogues, borrowed from private collections and, after two years of looking and asking questions, I finally put the puzzle together. I could name all the winners of the championship for Hackney horses at the Royal Winter Fair!
